What we collect when you use this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
ETHSG is a student association connecting students of ETH Zürich and the University of St. Gallen (HSG). For anything about your data, contact us at info@ethsg.club.
What we collect
- Membership: your name, email, university, study program, year of study and, if you give it, your phone number.
- Event sign-ups: the same member details, which events you signed up for and whether you attended. Signing up for an event adds you to our member list, unless you untick that option; then we keep your details only for the events you signed up for. If you give it, your LinkedIn profile link.
- Event applications: for events where the board selects the participants, also your short motivation. Board members use it and your LinkedIn profile only to decide on that event.
- Newsletter: your email address and when you subscribed.
We don't use analytics or advertising trackers, and fonts and images are served from this website itself. The only cookie is a login cookie for board members using the admin area.
Why we use it
- To organise events: manage places, contact participants about the event, and track attendance.
- To keep a member list and inform members about ETHSG activities.
- To send the newsletter to people who subscribed.
We don't sell your data.
Where it's stored
The website and its database run on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers and D1). Your data may therefore be processed on Cloudflare's servers outside Switzerland. On this website, only ETHSG board members with an admin account can see it.
When you sign up for an event, we email you a confirmation and a reminder shortly before the event. These emails are sent through Resend, which receives your name, email address and the event details for that purpose.
How long we keep it
We keep your member and event data until you ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, we keep your email address marked as unsubscribed so that you don't receive it again; ask us if you want it removed completely.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time what data we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. Email info@ethsg.club. To stop receiving the newsletter, use the unsubscribe page.
